Quentin Tarantino and FEET go together like Oreo cookies and milk. With another Oscar nomination (for Django Unchained), Director Quentin Tarantino has already discussed an upcoming project, a spin off from Inglorious Basterds. It wasn’t long ago when you couldn’t have a discussion regarding his movies without bringing up his obsession with feet. Okay, some would call it a fetish. Tomato-Tomato! Let’s take a look at some of Tarantino’s greatest feet hits…
From Dusk Til Dawn
This is a weird and creepy and hilarious movie to start with. Is it any surprise Tarantino (who is in the movie) sips liquor off Salma Hayek’s bare toes? Yeah, I think this may have started something.
Pulp Fiction
There is the conversation of foot rubs versus oral sex and which is more sensual. The dialogue is based on speculation that mobster Tony Rocky Horror got tossed out of a window for giving Mia Wallace (Uma Thurman’s character) a foot massage. Apparently that is not what happened. Regarding Mia Wallace, when we meet her character it is her feet gliding across the bedroom floor. Later she dances on her toes with Vincent Vega.
Jackie Brown
Louis (Robert De Niro’s character) notices Melanie (Bridget Fonda) by her toe ring next to his drink. There’s a closup of Fonda’s feet next to his drink that catches his eye.
Kill Bill
The Bride (Uma Thurman) wakes up from a coma and Tarantino uses several minutes to focus on her feet and toes as she begins to feel movement. Dude has a major crush on Thurman’s toes.
Death Proof
Each scene with the girls in the car Tarantino would direct: LET YOUR FEET HANG OUT THE WINDOW! That’s how I picture this movie was made.
